Contribution made towards the Endowment fund of the IMU are exempt from tax under 12-Clause (iv) of first proviso to\sub-section (5) of section 80G of Income Tax Act, 1961 from Principal Commissioner of Income Tax/ Commissioner of Income Tax dated 14^th March 2022. This order is valid till from 14-03-2022 to AY 2024-2025

Indian Maritime University is exempt from the provision of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act 1976 as per Govt. of India. Ministry of Home Affairs Gazette Notification F. No.II/21022/23(37)/2019-FCRA-III] dated 30 January 2020.
